Writing THE END - the story of a writer and her goal
September 1, 2015
This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. ~Winston Churchill
What about those two little words is so daunting. Beginnings are a mad dash of furious inspiration for me, where anything seems possible and my vision is clear. Yet with every piece I write, the further down the proverbial road I go, the slower the words seem to come. I am currently attempting to wrap up an unplanned novella, Home For The Howlidays, that struck me like a lightning bolt and demanded to be written in the middle of more pressing projects. But now it doesn't want to end.
I wrote the first six chapters of this Novella in two weeks. Its a crazy pace and something I have never done before. But the scarier thing is, I've wasted three weeks trying to write THE END. Just two chapters stand between me and the goal line. Well, the long weekend is coming and I am taking on the battle like a Valkyrie with a keyboard instead of a sword (I realize that is terribly mellowdramatic).
In other news, I made another cool quote from Home For The Howlidays to share with you. You might have seen my first one on twitter. This one at the bottom of this post, is from Chapter 8 (the last chapter of the story) that is currently being written.
By the way, I added a newsletter! If you would like to recieve my blog posts directly in your inbox, please subscribe here. You'll be the first to know when I post to the blog or whenever I create something awesome to share! Thanks!
