Looming Deadlines - A Procrastinators Nightmare
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. -Douglas Adams
Deadlines whether self imposed or external have a way of either lighting a fire or dooming me to procrastination. In February, it will be the two year anniversary of the only thing I have ever published, a short story named Dying to Love You which appeared in the February 2014 edition of Trysts of Fate. That short story is about to go from a caterpillar to a butterfly. I am currently wading deep into the rewrite, turning it from a 7000 word short story to a 25,000 word Novella. It feels appropriate to release this upgrade on the anniversary of it's initial release. If all goes according to plan, Until Death Do Us Part will release on February 16th. Here is where the scary deadline comes in. In order for that to happen I need to finish the current draft by the end of September and send it off to a copy editor. I need the whole thing completely ready to go, no later than November 15th. Holy deadlines Batman! This means I am taking a break from Home For The Howlidays to focus exclusively on this project and I know you will not be disappointed. I will be updating my newsletter subscribers as I go. You all will be getting the exclusive first look at the teasers I've been whipping up one week before they hit my website and an exclusive excerpt for newsletter subscribers only. So spread the word to those you know, JOIN HERE and be in the loop. To get the party rolling, below is the first of many teasers I've created. I hope you enjoy it!
