“The true genius shudders at incompleteness — imperfection — and usually prefers silence to saying the something which is not everything that should be said.” ― Edgar Allan Poe, Marginalia “Silence is only frightening to people who are compulsively verbalizing.” ― William S. Burroughs, The Job: Interviews with William S. Burroughs
It's been a few weeks since I posted, but oh what a few weeks it's been. The most recent draft of "Until Death Do Us Part" is finished at last. I set myself an aggressive deadline and I thought I made it, until I sent it off to the critique group and found an entire table of people were telling me I needed to rewrite my ending. I'm not going to lie, I freaked out for a minute. I even avoided my computer for a few days (concert tickets might have had something to do with that). But once my spirit was replenished I knew what I had to do. After all, the group always says, one person is an opinion, the entire table...you better just fix it. The crazy thing is, I think I like the new ending better. I still got the end scene I wanted but I figured out a different way to get there and you all will enjoy this story so much more for it. I promise. Now I am off to work on copy edits....proofreading is dull but someone has to do it. While I am busy, please enjoy another teaser below.
